The Power of S.V. GIO: A Future-Oriented Sports and Learning Club

The Giovanni van Bronckhorst Foundation was founded by former top footballer Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his wife Marieke. Through this foundation, they aim to give back to society by helping children in grades 7 and 8 develop, not only in sports but also in academic achievements and personal growth. The goal is to provide children with a solid foundation so they can transition to secondary education with confidence and navigate their lives positively.

At S.V. GIO, children are encouraged to grow stronger both physically and mentally. Under the guidance of Giovanni himself as head coach and Marieke as education advisor, the children learn they can be captains of their own ships. The unique program offers a combination of sports and education, focusing not only on reading comprehension, spelling, and arithmetic but also on social skills, self-confidence, and parental involvement.
